BAPEN Medical committee has vacancies for an E&T liaison member and at least one consultant committee member. BAPEN medical is aimed primarily at doctors with an interest in clinical nutrition and applications from gastroenterologists, surgeons, chemical pathologists, intensive care anaesthetists and GPs would all be welcomed for these positions.

The committee meets three times each year – at the main BAPEN meeting and on two other occasions. Traditionally these other two meetings have been face-to-face meetings but, in the era of austerity and increasing demands on everyone's time, these have been held via teleconference and regular email discussion. Each committee member would be expected to contribute actively to some aspect of the committee work, which includes organisation of training days, arranging symposia for BAPEN and other meetings, developing educational modules in nutrition and communicating with the members.

Applications are invited by email. Subject to committee agreement to appoint, the successful applicant would be ratified at the November BAPEN Conference. Each applicant should submit a maximum of one side of A4 with a brief CV, reasons for interest in the committee and suggestions of the skills which can be brought to the committee.
