I feel honoured and privileged to win this award on behalf of the BAPEN team who developed the Nutritional Care Tool. The team would also like to thank the many CN readers who took part in the development and testing of the tool as we went through the iterative development process to ensure maximum clinical utility.
I would like to add my personal thanks to Professor Mike Stroud and Kate Cheema for their enormous contributions to the work and to BAPEN Core Groups, especially PENG, PINNT and NNNG who contributed hugely to the development of the tool. We would all like to thank the Trusts and CN Readers who have signed up to using the tool and who have contributed significantly to its successful implementation during the first year. I look forward to more Trusts, Care Homes and Commissioners adopting the tool as we work together across the Health and Social Care Systems in the UK to deliver continual improvements in nutritional care.
