BAPEN is thrilled that our core group, PINNT, has won Product of the Year at the Complete Nutrition (CN) Awards 2018, for its ‘Medical Tag’ patient resource.
PINNT created the innovative Medical Tag and personalised contact card in conjunction with TeamTAG, to verify that the rucksack patients carry for their artificial nutrition and pump contains medical equipment.
The Tag’s international medical symbol is instantly recognised around the world. When people are asked to leave their rucksack in a cloakroom or pass through security checks, the Tag gives security staff the ability to make visual checks via a secure page on the PINNT website via a QR code on the Tag. They scan the code and can identify the pump they see with the pump on the screen, and then select this image to be taken to the technical specification on the company website. They made a fantastic film in collaboration with Dorset Police, to mark HAN Week 2018 which you can view here.
PINNT has received fantastic feedback from patients who have been using the Medical Tag since it was launched and also received European recognition for its now award-winning resource at the recent 40th ESPEN Congress.
This prestigious CN award, which is judged by readers of CN Magazine, will be presented to PINNT at a Winners gathering in London on Wednesday 26th September 2018.
Dr Simon Gabe, President of BAPEN says, “There were some fantastic products shortlisted for this year’s award and all were worthy winners but BAPEN is delighted that PINNT has been rewarded for their hard work and innovation. As PINNT is one of our core groups we are extremely proud and I’m sure that PINNT’s medical tag will do a brilliant job of providing more freedom and security to those who infuse their artificial nutrition in public.”
Congratulations again to PINNT on this achievement!
