North America's Malnutrition Awareness Week (MAW) takes place next week, between 4 – 8th October 2021. North America’s MAW provides a fantastic platform for global conversations to take place, and BAPEN is excited to support ASPEN and the Canadian Nutrition Society in their efforts to raise awareness of malnutrition across the pond!
As a multidisciplinary organisation, we firmly believe there is value in learning from one another, and sharing best practice between disciplines, settings, and specialties. With that in mind, we are delighted to be participating in a webinar with our friends at ASPEN and CNS to explore the concept of nutrition care as a human right.
A recent, large international effort has led to the recognition of the right to nutritional care being a fundamental human right that is closely linked to the right to health and food. Nutritional care rights include being screened for malnutrition, diagnosis and assessment, and food and evidence-based nutrition therapy.
We will be looking at how the introduction of this concept can lead to improved nutrition care, dietitian access, and patient engagement.
Join the webinar to find out more! Members – please check your emails as you will have been sent a code which enables you to join the webinar, taking place Thursday 7th October, 17:00 – 18:15pm.
We are looking forward to supporting North America’s Malnutrition Awareness Week, and for the baton to be passed to us the following week!
