BAPEN is delighted to support the BDA during Dietitians Week (7-11th June). This week is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the work of dietitians who contribute so much to our health and social care system. This year the BDA is particularly focused on using the campaign to celebrate the diversity of the dietetic profession, encouraging more people to consider a career in dietetics, recognising RD2B, Dietetic Assistants and Dietetic Support Workers and their contributions, as well as promoting public health messages.
BAPEN is particularly looking forward to the photo competition! The past two years there have been some brilliant photos to highlight #WhatDietitiansDo. This year, the competition is being used to show just how much dietitians love food! The BDA has also asked for case studies from patients and clients who have used dietetic services. This is a fantastic opportunity to hear some first-hand experiences and continue to learn as a profession from one another.
BAPEN President Dr Trevor Smith said, “Dietitians Week is a real stand out in the calendar, and I am delighted to be showing my support. Dietitians contribute enormously to patients’ lives, and particularly during the last 18 months of COVID their dedication has been inspiring. I am looking forward to reading some patient stories and feeling inspired, and also feeling food-envy by the photo competition! Do keep an eye out on social media as there will no doubt be a lot going on!”
We want to encourage all our members and followers to use the hashtags #WhatDietitiansDo and #DW2021 during the week to join the conversations! For more information on all of the activities taking place during this year’s Dietitians Week click here.
