As a charity and professional organisation, BAPEN is committed to supporting continued professional development and the delivery of high-quality educational programmes not only for its members but for the wider healthcare community.

In addition to a range of educational events offered by BAPEN, including the BAPEN annual conference, BAPEN encourages other organisations to devise courses/educational events to develop knowledge and skills amongst health and social care staff to optimise nutritional care including the identification of malnutrition and the safe and effective provision of nutritional support.

BAPEN offers endorsement for courses that fulfil identified criteria (see application form) and where it can be demonstrated that they will be delivered by those who possess the skills to do so. Reflecting the ethos of BAPEN we encourage courses of a multi-professional nature however endorsement is not confined to this and uni-professional events offer merit in supporting specific skills and competencies that may be unique to a profession.
