Conference 2024 was a huge success for the NNNG with key topics including: Practicalities of blended diet, Inclusive drinks machines, ARFID, Home PN, Nurse-led PEG insertions, Career progression, and many more. We were delighted to be joined by so many nutrition professionals and we really hope you left feeling enthusiastic to implement new ideas in your practice and recognise the value/scope of the nutrition nurse role. A huge thank you to all our sponsors and delegates as the Conference wouldn’t be a success without you. As we look forward to NNNG25, please do get in touch with any ideas of topics you would like covered at the next Conference.
We held our 2024 AGM at Conference and members voted to accept a change to the NNNG constitution. This included membership running from the date you join exactly to a year until you renew your membership, and an increase in membership fees. This increase will allow the NNNG to continue to function as costs increase. Please remember your membership includes access to BAPEN, Good Practice guidelines and the invaluable discussion forum.
As we head into the second half of the year, you may notice changes to the website as we implement updates. These will include an interactive Nutrition Team Map, easy access for members to guidelines and clear educational resources. Any suggestions are always welcome.
As always, we are looking for enthusiastic writers, so if you’re thinking of something you would like to write up or a project you want to report on, please do get in touch.
We are working alongside DRIPP who have an up-and-coming workshop on 18th October. For further resources please visit their website.
The NNNG are looking to hold a series of webinars surrounding NOVEL techniques for NG confirmation.

It’s been a pleasure to be part of local meetings which bring support and information to people with who feed enterally or parenterally, along with oral supplements. The meetings are inclusive, so carers are a vital part of this network. We find it’s the simple things in life that people want to discuss, all the things people take for granted that become an obstacle for our members. We’ve had some interesting presentations along with brainstorming as to how new groups want to operate.
What’s in store? Daily themes which are applicable to those living with a feeding tube or catheter, those who have oral supplements, as well as healthcare professionals, industry partners, carers and service providers.
Days 1–6 of awareness week we will address aspects of life on artificial nutrition and living with a feeding tube. Some will be personal to you or your loved one, and others will relate to you being a part of PINNT’s community, those who work within it, along with how PINNT works with various bodies and associations.
Day 7 will be a recognition of how all these teams, networks and aspects of HAN allow #thisisme and #thisisus.
Day 1: With my personal network – Family, friends, colleagues, partner, carers...
Day 2: With my homecare team – Homecare company, homecare nurses, products/services...
Day 3: With my community services – Home enteral nutrition support teams, GPs, district nurses, paid carers...
Day 4: With hospital team(s) – Nutrition team, clinical team...
Day 5: With PINNT’s network – Professional bodies and groups, patient groups, research, teams/networks PINNT partner with...
Day 6: With team PINNT – Trustees, EC, ambassadors, regional groups – the people, the leaders, the supporters...
Day 7: Celebrate*: #thisisme #thisisus
Get involved!! While PINNT will have a schedule of events, it is your stories and experiences that really matter. Go to the website https://bit.ly/4ca1TD4 to locate the logos and templates you can use. However, you can design your own.
The easiest way to show support for HAN Week is to download and share a ‘I am supporting HAN Week 2024’ or ‘We are supporting HAN Week 2024’ poster. No need to print, you can open it on a phone, iPad or laptop and get someone to snap a photo of you to share on your social platforms.
Please tag PINNT in on any social media activity, we want to support you too.
