I hope you all enjoyed the summer and are looking forward to the annual BAPEN Conference, which is always a highlight in my calendar! We are excited to be joining you in South Wales next month to share our joint Nutrition Society and BPSHGAN symposium on ‘Disordered eating in children’. The session will comprise:

  • Exploring Disordered Eating in Children with Coeliac Disease - Rosie Satherley, University of Surrey
  • Appropriate Management of Overweight and Obesity in Children - Nikki Davis, University Hospital Southampton, NHS Foundation Trust
  • Using Photovoice to Capture the Experience of Eating Disorders and Set Research Priorities in Autistic People with Eating Disorders - Karri Gillespie-Smith, University of Edinburgh.

I hope that this session will be of interest to many of you and you will join us on Tuesday 11th, 14:10-15:40, Symposium 5.

BAPEN members are always very welcome to join Nutrition Society’s events. Here are some of the upcoming events you might like to note in your diary:

Papers from Nutrition Society events are published in the Proceedings of the Nutrition Society, so watch that space for the research emerging from our conferences that you are not able to attend.

Finally, in August we launched our Nutrition Science Hub. The Hub is the next evolution of our online training platform with an enhanced user journey, making it easier, faster and more intuitive to access the content most valuable for your development. This next-generation platform reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering evidence-based nutritional science at exceptional value making it the professional development platform for nutritionists and dietitians. Explore the new platform here: https://hub.nutritionsociety.org

I look forward to seeing you in Wales!

All my very best, Caroline
