New British Intestinal Failure Alliance (BIFA) position statement published

BIFA has recently published ‘Guidance Haematological and Biochemical Monitoring of Adult Patients receiving Home Parenteral Nutrition’, authored by Gavin Mercer-Smith, Colette Kirk, Lisa Gemmell, Chris Mountford, Jeremy Nightingale, Nick Thompson and the BIFA Committee.

BAPEN community COVID-19 survey of healthcare professionals

Between May and June 2020, BAPEN conducted a survey of healthcare professionals to better understand how the nutritional care of patients with COVID-19 was being managed in the community, and to gain insights into some of the key challenges.

The summary report is now available and includes findings regarding malnutrition and nutrition-related symptoms, malnutrition risk, barriers to delivering good nutrition, nutritional strategies, and nutritional pathways and community care.
