Many of you may have noticed our new website and logo. Our brand is more than just a logo or a colour palette – it’s who we are, what we stand for and why we’re different. It is inspired by, and represents, a multiplying effect of people and science coming together – a powerful network. We hope you’ll agree that this visual identity reflects the contemporary professional society that welcomes nutritionists from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines.
With autumn upon us, I am very much looking forward to attending the BAPEN Annual Conference in Edinburgh this month – this will be my first BAPEN meeting and I am excited to experience this in person. The Society will have an exhibition stand once again, please do come and say hello.
With just one Society conference remaining on the calendar for 2023, the events team have been busy finalising this year’s Winter Conference, taking place at the Royal Society in London, 5-6 December. The programme is on the topic of ‘Diet and lifestyle strategies for prevention and management of multimorbidity’ and will explore pathways for prevention of multimorbidity across the life course, the role of ageing and the gut-brain-heart connection. It will also consider machine learning and precision nutrition approaches for addressing research challenges in multimorbidity.
The Nutrition Society Academy continues to go from strength-to-strength with an updated and innovative subscription-based model. Instead of paying £14.99 for a single webinar, subscribers can access over 70 scientific and skills-based webinars from £2 per month. With new content added every month, the Academy aims to upskill Nutrition and Healthcare Professionals by providing regular, evidence-based webinars, workshops and courses to develop nutrition science knowledge and enhance professional skills within the field. BAPEN members are always welcome to the Nutrition Society’s events and I look forward to seeing many of you at the BAPEN Annual Conference.
All my very best,
Caroline
