BAPEN’s Vision & Aims – Strategic Plan 2018-2022

The draft version of the BAPEN strategic plan 2018-2022 is now available to download from the website for members to comment on.

BAPEN Council will discuss this at their meeting on 14th June and all comments from members should be submitted by 3rd June.

New Intestinal Failure Registry

In November 2016, BAPEN announced the introduction of the World’s first Intestinal Failure (IF) Registry.

The Registry is hosted on the N3 NHS Secure network and tracks the following:

  • Identification of specialist IF activity in UK hospitals
  • Register of Nutrition Team members and IF service structure
  • Register of all type 2 & 3 IF patients
    • Diagnosis
    • In-patient data
    • Surgical data
    • PN line details
    • Outpatient data.
