BAPEN is delighted to support Home Artificial Nutrition (HAN) Week, which is running 4th – 10th August 2025. Organised by PINNT,HAN Week is an annual campaign dedicated to raising awareness of essential nutritional treatments; parenteral and enteral feeding and oral supplements. These life-sustaining treatments support individuals living with complex medical conditions that affect their ability to eat and absorb nutrients.

Dr Nick Thompson, BAPEN President, commented:

“This important week shines a light on life-sustaining nutritional therapies – parenteral and enteral feeding, as well as oral nutritional supplements – and the people who rely on them every day. Central to HAN Week is the opportunity to hear directly from those living with home artificial nutrition – their stories bring to life the reality behind these treatments: the challenges, the impact, and their resilience. These lived experiences not only raise awareness but help shape compassionate and informed care. BAPEN is proud to be supporting PINNT and the HAN community to amplify these voices and deepen understanding.”

Throughout the week, a range of activities and educational content will be shared to promote understanding, support patients and caregivers, and encourage best practice across health and social care.
