PINNT launches new report on the sustainability of home nutrition support

Other News

Today, PINNT has launched a report about the sustainability of home nutrition support. This report shares the findings of a first-of-its-kind national survey into clinical and non-clinical waste in home nutritional care, and contains important perspectives about the necessary and unnecessary waste involved with these life-sustaining treatments.

Dr Nick Thompson, BAPEN President, welcomes the report:

“This report offers a powerful insight into the real-world impact of waste in home artificial nutrition (HAN). Waste of valuable products, time, and energy not only affects the efficiency of homecare services, but also the wellbeing of the people who rely on them every day. We must work together – across all sectors and crucially including individuals who receive HAN – to improve communication, reduce waste, and ensure that homecare services are sustainable.”
