NG SIG Chair
BAPEN are looking for a Chair for the Nasogastric Tube Special Interest Group (NG SIG).
NG Special interest group (NGSIG) is a special interest group within BAPEN. This multidisciplinary forum for professionals aims to review national and local data including approaches in managing nasogastric tube therapy for the purpose of providing nutrition, hydration and or medication; for example NGT Never Events, policies, protocols and resources. The NGSIG will also provide an opportunity for members to raise awareness of NG safety, debate complex issues and advance practice by collaborative working, research, audit, and engagement with industry. BAPEN aims to establish a working group looking at all aspects of enteral nutrition and NG SiG would fit into this new structure.
As a registered healthcare professional and member of one of the BAPEN core groups you will lead NG SIG and work with colleagues across the BAPEN family. You will have expertise in using enteral feeding tubes, confidence in advising on safe practice and awareness of the latest evidence for good practice. Limited leadership experience isn’t a barrier to application as BAPEN are happy to support with mentorship around leadership and chairing.
Why volunteer?
This voluntary role is a great opportunity to enhance your CV, raise your profile as an expert in enteral tubes and influence work at a national level. Developing your leadership skills, meeting new colleagues and networking at a national level are further benefits.
