We’re delighted to announce that Sarah Zeraschi has been appointed as BAPEN’s new Honorary Treasurer, taking over as Treasurer from Dr Sheldon Cooper at BAPEN Annual Conference in November. In the meantime, Sarah will join the Executive team to help facilitate a smooth transition into the role.
Sarah is the Consultant Pharmacist for Nutrition and Intestinal Failure in Leeds, working with both adult and paediatric nutrition teams and primary care. She is no stranger to BAPEN, having helped to establish the Yorkshire and Humber Nutrition Network as a regional representative. In addition to seeing patients, much of her time is focussed on standardisation of prescribing practice and processes to ensure safe, patient-centred care. In anticipation of her new position, Sarah commented:
“I’m really looking forward to joining the BAPEN Executive as the next Honorary Treasurer and Trustee. As a member of BAPEN for many years, I’ve been impressed by the work that goes into promoting nutritional care across the different professions, all the while keeping patients at the heart of decision making. It’s a privilege for me to be the first pharmacist in many years to take up an Executive role, and to represent both adult and paediatric perspectives.”
We also want to take this opportunity to thank Dr Cooper for his steadfast commitment to BAPEN, both in his capacity as Treasurer and throughout many years of service dedicated to improving clinical care, particularly within intestinal failure.
