BAPEN is delighted to be partnering once again with the Malnutrition Task Force (MTF) for UK Malnutrition Awareness Week (UKMAW) 2026, taking place from 16th – 22nd November 2026. The week aims to raise awareness of the signs, risks and impact of malnutrition and dehydration, and encourage earlier identification and intervention across health and care settings.
This year, we will be calling on all healthcare professionals to recognise that every interaction is an opportunity to spot the signs of malnutrition and dehydration early and take action. Throughout the week, BAPEN will be promoting practical ways for health and care professionals, carers, families and communities to identify people at risk and ensure they receive appropriate support, with plenty of opportunities for you and your team to get involved.
The week will focus on a different theme each day:
- Malnutrition Screening Monday
- #ChallengesTuesday & Solutions
- Inclusive Nutrition Support Wednesday
- Thirsty Thursday
- Every Contact Counts Friday
- Weekend: Nutrition Superheroes
Downloadable resources, campaign materials and opportunities to get involved will be added to the UK Malnutrition Awareness Week 2026 page in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for new ways to support #UKMAW2026.
Please contact bapen@mandfhealth.com for any further information required. By working together, we can improve understanding, identification, prevention, and management of these conditions.
