Heather, from South Wales has a long history of Crohn’s disease which was diagnosed at aged 18. Over the course of 12 years she had multiple small bowel resections and ultimately a bowel perforation which resulted in intestinal failure and a dependence on parenteral nutrition. For 20 years Heather lived with this daily nutritional support until 2025 when she was given the opportunity to try growth factor treatment. A year later Heather was able to have her Broviac line removed and is no longer dependent on PN.
