Are you passionate about communications, engagement and raising the profile of nutrition support?
BAPEN is seeking a new Communications Officer to join its Executive Team. As Communications Officer, you will play a leading role in promoting BAPEN’s work, supporting key campaigns and events, and ensuring the voice of nutrition support continues to be heard across the UK. Working closely with the BAPEN Executive, Council, Secretariat and communications partners, you’ll help drive awareness of important issues in nutritional care and contribute to initiatives that make a real difference to patients and professionals alike.
The role offers the chance to:
- Lead and shape BAPEN’s communications activity and explore new approaches to member and stakeholder engagement
- Support the promotion of the BAPEN Annual Conference and other flagship activities
- Contribute to UK Malnutrition Awareness Week (UKMAW) which is a joint BAPEN and Malnutrition Task Force initiative
- Develop skills in communications, public relations, marketing and project management
- Build valuable relationships across BAPEN’s multidisciplinary membership and wider healthcare network
This voluntary position is open to registered healthcare professionals who are BAPEN members. Previous communications experience and familiarity with digital and social media platforms are desirable.
A word from our current Communications Officer
“Serving as BAPEN’s Communications Officer has been incredibly rewarding. The role has given me the opportunity to work closely alongside passionate professionals, develop new skills, and help amplify messages that can improve nutritional care for patients nationwide.
One of the things I’ve enjoyed most is the scope to bring new ideas forward and see them turn into campaigns, resources and conversations that make a genuine impact.
